Spring 2012 Cup Updates

We are already half way through group play in both Presidents and State Cup. Arsenal teams have shown well over the past few weeks, with some great come backs and upsets. We currently have a combined record of 12-0-6.

The U14 and U16 Boys Royal teams started off their Presidents Cup run on a high note both winning their first two games. With one game left each, both teams are looking to go into the playoffs as a top seed and can do so by winning their final group game.

The two-time defending State Champions; U14 Boys Gold team, has started strong with a 2-0 start. They are currently sitting at the top of their group with two games remaining.

The U18 Boys are trying to conclude their playing career’s with Arsenal CO by winning a State Championship of their own. They showed well this past weekend coming from behind against CO Storm Royal winning in the final moments of the game 3-2. The boys will be back on the field in two weeks.

Our U12 Girls Royal played one of the most exciting games I have watched in a long time.  The girls played against CO Rush, a top 5 team in the state, and were able to pull off a 3-2 win in dramatic fashion after being down 0-2. The girls displayed poise and confidence; they were able to fight their way back in a great team win. The girls are currently 1-1 and play a mid-week game this evening against Westminster Samba.

All of our teams are still alive in the group play stages and will look to finish strong ensuring they move through to the quarter and semi-finals. Teams are back in action this Sunday. Best of luck to all in the second half of group stages!
